THE OPPORTUNITY
Wawa. It really needs no introduction. Wawa is one of the most recognizable community names in the province. It’s been featured in songs, poetry, paintings, and in statue. However, the municipality’s tourism manager recognized that the Wawa ‘Wow’ brand was dated and it was time to redevelop its visual appeal. Impressed with what the BC Hughes Marketing Team did for Algoma, Wawa wanted to align itself closely with the Algoma That Real brand.
THE PROCESS
Wawa wanted to give the Wawa brand a more contemporary sex appeal as a destination – for outdoor adventures, motorsports, hunting and fishing. The BC Hughes team considered the assets that Wawa is known for, how the new look and feel could fit with the Algoma That Real brand, and penned the Wawa Brand Promise and the corresponding Visual Style.

THE OUTCOME
The Wawa and Wawa real Algoma logos were developed in multiple corresponding formats to depict the tourism assets the town is known for. The Brand Toolkit ensures that tourism marketing tactics and collateral fit the new Wawa brand.
