As a regional destination marketing organization, Ontario’s Lake Country’s mission is to encourage increased visitation and economic activity linked with tourism receipts, and to support unique experience development through strategic marketing. The organization hired BC Hughes to complete a branding study to ensure their brand supported their organizational goals.
After extensively researching and reviewing the organization and tourism in the region, the consulting team met with the branding committee to gain insight into issues facing the organization. Surveys and individual interviews were completed among internal and external regional stakeholders. Brand recognition surveys were commissioned with the larger public to determine the effectiveness of the current brand.
BC Hughes assisted Ontario’s Lake County with making strategic decisions about their branding, usage, tagline and marketing opportunities to ensure that the DMO remains top of mind for tourism activity within the region. Completing this branding audit and analysis allowed the organization to focus on marketing activities which would enhance regional economic development for their tourism stakeholders.
