Having developed the Group of Seven Tourism Foundation Document and Master Plan outlining the tourism potential and strategy for Group of Seven product development in Northern Ontario (in conjunction with the Tourism Company), Algoma Country and the consulting team saw the need to develop further experiences to support the product development initiative.
An Experience Development Handbook as well as a market readiness criteria was outlined to provide operators with the background to develop experiences to fit the program. This was followed up by the delivery of an operator experience development workshop which was provided to hand selected operators. These operators took part in an experiential tourism development workshop designed to allow them develop an idea and start to build upon it. The workshop participants took part in one on one after coaching to ensure the success of the program and the continuation of the development of market ready experiences.
Operators gained an understanding of the opportunity surrounding Group of Seven experiences in the region and had the opportunity to share ideas with peers and coaches. New market ready experiences were developed and launched to market.
