THE OPPORTUNITY
BC Hughes’ worked with the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation (in conjunction with McLeod Farley & Associates) in New Brunswick aimed to establish the area as a snowmobile destination hub. The Madawska Maliseet First Nation recognized an opportunity to create a four-season tourism attraction at their highly successful Grey Rock Power Centre.
THE PROCESS
BC Hughes created a Snowmobile Destination Business Plan, documenting the steps that should be taken to develop the experience at the Grey Rock Centre. To support the business plan, the Marketing Plan was formulated, detailing the target market, the marketing strategy and the tactics and actions to be undertaken.
THE OUTCOME
The Business Plan and Marketing Plan helped the First Nation in planning their approach to establishing the community as a four-season tourism destination. It assisted in prioritizing economic development investments to boost the shoulder season and to create an experience that drives visitors and entices them to stay in the area.
